Clothes, shoes, gifts, and even groceries can be delivered to a customer’s doorstep. The holiday season is around the corner, and if you are in the delivery industry this is the peak-season for you and your ISP fleet. Now is the time to start preparing for the peak-season and getting everything organized before it is too late. Although it doesn’t start until late November, everyone in the ISP industry is getting ready; which means it may take longer to get the step vans you need. Here are a few tips from MAG Trucks:
- It takes a lot of planning and strategy to make this time of year efficient and successful. Part of that planning and strategy is looking at the delivery routes and maintaining the vehicles. Now is the time to get the step vans in your fleet maintenance. You don’t want to neglect doing this before peak-season because it can cost you during the season if your truck breaks down. It is also the time to buy routes to add to your fleet and assessing your current routes. How many trucks will you need? Will you need diesel or gas? What length will be needed? Those are all valuable questions you need to asses before peak-season starts. You will want to have your trucks purchased and ready for your fleet at the beginning of November to ensure you are ready to deliver during peak-season.
- When your fleets and routes are ready you will want to have your staff prepared. Make sure to hire with enough time to train your growing team so they won't crack under the pressure of the holidays. Training is critical for efficiency and success during the busy season. Show your team the tools to make their job go smoothly and quickly. Not only is it important to ensure your trucks are ready, but having prepared drivers is just as important.
